Three ways to work with us. Every one starts with a first session where you say what is going on and we say, honestly, whether we can help.
Weekly 50-minute sessions for anxiety, low mood, grief, work stress or the sense that something is off. You set the pace.
A neutral room and 60 minutes to say the things that keep going unsaid. For couples who are stuck, drifting or deciding.
The same counsellor, the same hour, by secure video. For anyone who travels, lives further out, or would rather talk from home.

What clients say
“We came to Stillwater as a last try. Eight months on we still argue, but we can hear each other now. That is the difference”

You pay per session, there is no package to buy, and you can stop whenever you decide to. If money is the thing in the way, ask about a concession place.

Email or call and a counsellor, not a receptionist, replies within one working day. There is no obligation to book. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency services now.
The questions most people ask before they book, answered plainly.
Yes. Nothing you say leaves the room, with the legal exceptions every counsellor works under: if you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, we will talk to you first about who needs to know. Notes are kept securely and you can ask to see them.
You talk, we listen, and near the end we say honestly whether we think we can help and who would be the right counsellor. It is a normal-length session and you pay for it, but there is no commitment to a second one.
We do not know yet, and we would be wary of anyone who says they do. Some people come for six weeks around one decision; others come for a year. We review together every few months and you can stop at any point.
For most people, yes. You need a private space, a steady connection and headphones. We use a secure video service, not a consumer chat app, and the session is otherwise the same length and the same fee.
